While napping this afternoon, I dreamed I was riding my quad around on my property. Not much to do, really, except try to navigate the trees and rocks at excessive speeds. I hit one stretch in the middle of the property where there was a dip and found myself airborne for a second. I must have been going pretty fast since my quad is extremely heavy and not built for jumping in any way.
It was such a thrill that I circled back and tried it again, this time faster. I stayed airborne longer and bounced incredibly hard three times when I hit the ground. I managed to stay on, though my hands almost slipped off the handlebars.
I woke up with adrenaline pumping in my blood, and I couldn't figure out why. I had forgotten the dream until an hour or so later, when I inexplicably got the urge to play an XBox game that I have not played in years.
The game I wanted to play was not an action game at all. It was The Sims. Unfortunately, the XBox 360 no longer supports older games like that, so I had to settle for some Grand Theft Auto V. I got bored with it relatively quickly, though. I'm not enamored of that game, since there are less glitches, and it is more difficult to blow shit up than in the previous versions. I like finding unique and unthought-of ways to destroy as much as possible in these types of games.
The only reason I even wanted to play the Sims was so that I could build rooms without doors, have my characters practice unsafe cooking and watch them die in fires. If I keep doing this, creating new characters and killing them, the whole property becomes one big cemetery, filled with urns and tombstones. By that time the game gets unstable and crashes because it wasn't designed for the extreme number of ghost characters which seem to overtax the system resources.
Yeah, I'm sick. But we knew this already.
The temp is 94 and dropping, so it's time for me to get outside and go for my evening walk.
